Few names in history stir as much curiosity, debate, and devotion as the name of Jesus. For more than 2,000 years, His life has shaped cultures, religions, and even entire civilizations. Some know Him as a prophet, others as a teacher, still others as a miracle-worker. But the question remains: Who really is Jesus?

This question is not just historical—it is deeply personal. Because if Jesus is who He claimed to be, then His life and message have everything to do with ours.

What the World Says

Across South Asia and around the globe, different ideas about Jesus have taken root:

  • Some say Jesus was a great moral teacher, offering wisdom about love and compassion.
  • Some call Him a prophet, a messenger from God but not God Himself.
  • Others see Him as a healer or miracle-worker, whose acts of kindness still inspire.
  • And still others believe He was simply a man whose followers exaggerated His story.

These views recognize Jesus as important—but they stop short of answering the bigger question: Was He more than a man? If He was only a teacher, His words are inspiring but not life-changing. If He was only a prophet, His message may guide us but it cannot save us.

What the Bible and Jesus Say

The Bible presents Jesus very differently. He is not only a teacher of truth—He is the truth. He is not only a prophet pointing to God—He is God.

Jesus made bold claims about Himself. He said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). He forgave sins, something only God can do. He called Himself the Son of God, and even accepted worship. No mere man could rightly do these things.

But Jesus didn’t just make claims—He backed them up. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, stilled storms, and raised the dead. And most of all, He rose from the dead Himself. His resurrection was God’s stamp of approval on everything He said and did.

This means Jesus is not just another religious figure among many. He is the Savior of the world, the one who came to rescue us from sin and bring us back to God.
